Some Facts About Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a concept that has been a source of concern for people all over the world and throughout history. The ancient Greeks and Egyptians depicted through their stories and philosophical works artificial machines and entities that possess characteristics that are similar humans particularly in the area of thinking, reasoning, and intelligence are concerned.

Along with the invention of electronic computers during the 1940s this area and concept that is now known as artificial intelligence, which is concerned with the development of intelligent machines that resemble human beings, and more specifically with characteristics similar to human characteristics began to produce intelligent machines.

The subjects that come with artificial intelligence are extremely diverse. The fields of study like Mathematics, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic, Engineering, Social Sciences, Cognitive Sciences and Computer Science are crucial and are closely connected. They are significant when it comes down with artificial intelligence. These fields and disciplines help in the development of intelligent machines that bear similarity humans.

Artificial Intelligence has seen an incredible and rapid growth since 1956. Researchers have achieved impressive results in developing intelligent machines that are capable of doing the things that humans can do.

Evidently, researchers have faced and continue to face a variety of issues when trying to simulate human brain. A machine that is intelligent must have several features and be able to meet specific norms. For instance, a human brain is capable to solve problems faster by using mostly intuitive judgments instead of conscious judgements.

Another area which researchers have extensively researched was the representation of knowledge that is the representation of knowledge about how the universe works that machines need to have to be able to solve problems , such as objects or types of objects, the characteristics of objects, relationships between objects, relationships that are related to the causes and effects, conditions such as situations, circumstances, etc.

Another challenge facing researchers working in artificial intelligence is the fact that intelligent machines need to be able of planning the issues that must be solved, and to establish several objectives that need to be met and to make choices and forecast actions, they need to be able to comprehend human language and display emotions, and be able to comprehend and anticipate the actions of other people.

Artificial Intelligence is a complex and extensive area of research that raises many questions and causes many debates but also resolves many of the issues industry and technology face today and could provide many solutions in the near future.
